wow this track is so cool. ok right off the bat it's in 11/4, that's why it sounds frantic despite the slow pace. so the american version has this arpeggiator whatever harmony track and what it's doing is toggling between the two notes in the background chord that the japanese version is playing, because it can, because it has 2 more Square channels.
i think this is the song that got me to start this project
this is historic!!
anyway i thought it sounded cool as Fuck to have that arpeggiation going on top of the entire rest of the stuff that's available, and that's what i did!
US squares are a little louder because they do that angry slide downward in the intro to the song and i wanted that heard. holy heck its cool. it doesnt matter that the other things arent doing it, that all sounds fine together
i paid a lot of attention to drum volume in this because A) the basses are hitting one note for 90% of the song and B) did i mention it's in 11/4, that's a cool ass rhythm. the drums are kinda separated like (6/5/6/5) but the snare falls on, in each of those subdivisions, on the 5/4/4/3th/rd beat which makes it sound really frantic and you're rushing and ooh dracula's coming, or i guess you're going to him, whatever, but it's Dangerous and Plodding and he plottin
good lord this is a lot of words, sorry, this track is long so it's taking some real ass time to upload.
a drunken dare between stemage and every demon in marble hell results in the most mind boggling adaptation of the marble madness soundtrack also i did one of the songs on this album get it Kirby Pufocia
find a metroid, fill it with lead. sometimes sludgy, sometimes peppy, always time-signaturey and syncopatey, always very heavy and riff-driven, you will love it or my name's not freddy mercury Kirby Pufocia
let's be real here, if the phrase post-rock zelda remix album didn't just make you shit your pants there's really no point in pretending you still like music Kirby Pufocia
